Fay School was founded by Eliza Burnett Fay and her sister, Harriet Burnett, and officially opened in 1866. The school is located at 48 Main Street in Southborough, Massachusetts, and is the oldest junior boarding school in the United States. The school has a campus with around 10 sports fields, along with ice time, skiing and golf off-campus.
Fay School's co-educational program serves students in grades one through nine. The school is open to boarders in grades 6-9 and accommodates students from many countries. Students are required to follow a formal dress code consisting of a blazer, slacks or skirt, formal shoes, button up shirt, tie (boys) and a belt. The school's motto is Poteris Modo Velis, "You can if you will."
