The Emin Valley is located between the China-Kazakhstan border with a length of about 65,000 square kilometers. An ecosystem of mostly grassland and steppes with two saline lakes and temperate mountains.

Lake Alakol and Lake Sasykkol are found in this area, which are the homes of the rare Dalmatian pelican and Relict Gull.
