Dargin people
The Dargin people (???????? in Dargwa, ???????? in Russian) are an ethnic North-East Caucasian group of the Caucasus who live mainly in the Russian republic of Dagestan. They speak the Dargin language.
The population of Dagestan is more than 16% Dargin.
Religion
The main religion is Islam, which first reached the area in the 8th Century. However, general acceptance of Islam did not reach the area until the 15th Century.
