Cymenshore

Cymenshore (also called Cymen's Shore or Cymenes Ora) is an old name for a town in Southern England. It is thought to be located around Wittering near Chichester in West Sussex. [1] Others say it may be located off of Selsey Bill at a spot that is now underwater. This is about 6 miles from Wittering.

According to the Anglo-Saxon Chronicle, Ælle of Sussex landed at Cymenshore in 477 A.D. and battled the Welsh with his three sons.[2]

With Ælle were his three sons, Cymen, Wlenking, and Cissa. Cissa went on the become the King of Sussex in 491 A.D.
