Computational geophysics
Computational Geophysics entails rapid numerical computations that help analyses of geophysical data and observations. High-performance computing plays a major role
due to the size and complexity of the geophysical data to be processed. The main computing demanding tasks are:
- 3D and 4D images building of the earth sub-surface
- Modeling and Migration of complex media
- Tomography and inverse problems
