Compound heterozygosity
Two recessive alleles that can cause a particular disease in a heterozygous state. Let's take sickle cell anemia as an example. If you had one allele for hemoglobin S and one allele for hemoglobin C, you would still get the disease even though you are heterozygous for both genes.
