Bang (1996 film)
Bang is a 1996 crime drama film written and directed by "King" Jeff Hollins. In addition to King Jeff, the film also stars Gorio, El Timo, and Eddie Lacey. The film was shot on a very low budget in Louisiana. After playing at a few local movie theaters, the film was eventually released to video. It can be found on the "Living Da Life" 10 disc DVD box set, the "Da Killaz" 4 disc DVD box set, as a single DVD. The film will be re-released on DVD in November of 2008 along with the sound track. PlotBang is very heavily inspired by Reservoir Dogs in execution. The story revolves around four police officers who find themselves captive in an abandoned garage by three masked gang members who vow to kill one cop every hour for unknown reasons. As the officers await death, they reflect upon their previous unlawful transgressions. ReceptionReviews of the film have been generally negative. IMDB users currently rate the film as a 2.7 out of 10. A very minor scandal occurred in 2006, when Jeff Hollins, the director of the film, was found to have posted a deceitful, positive review of Bang on the site. External linksBANG reviews have been generally mixed. Like with any other film, some people like it and some don't. IMDB users currently rate the film as 3.6 out of 10. A very minor scandal occurred in 2006, when Jeff Hollins, the director of the film, was thought to have posted a deceitful, positive review of Bang on the site. The reason for this erroneous accusation was the result of a close friend of Jeff Hollins honestly and harmlessly posting a positive review from Hollins's computer and using his email address. It was a mis-understanding that was blown out of proportion by drama seeking internet critics with nothing better to do with their time.
