The Arabian bambooshark has its mouth well in front of its eyes, and its dorsal fins are spineless. The precaudal tail is greatly elongated and thick, the long and low anal fin is just anterior to the caudal fin, and there are prominent predorsal and interdorsal ridges on the back. The dorsal fins have nearly straight posterior margins, and the second dorsal fin usually has a longer base than the first. It inhabits coral reefs, rocky shores, and mangrove estuaries, feeding on squid, shelled molluscs, crustaceans, and snake eels.
The Arabian bambooshark has no colour pattern.
Reproduction is oviparous, laying up to 4 eggs on coral reefs which hatch in 70 to 80 days.
