Al-Harith ibn Jabalah
Al-Harith ibn Jabalah (Arabic: ?????? ?? ????, ) was a king of the Ghassanids, a pre-Islamic Arab people who lived on the eastern frontier of the Byzantine Empire. He reigned from 529 to 569. Al-Harith supported the Byzantines against Sassanid Persia and was given the title patricius in 529 by Emperor Justinian I. Al-Harith adhered to Miaphysitism and rejected the Council of Chalcedon, which had condemned Monophysitism. Al-Harith supported opponents of the Council and in the region and thereby contributed to the development of the Syriac Orthodox Church.
