
AIDS Memorial Grove
The AIDS Memorial Grove in Golden Gate Park, San Francisco, California, is dedicated to individuals who have died as a result of acquired immune deficiency syndrome (AIDS). It is also in support of those who are living with AIDS and their loved ones and caregivers.
A memorial inside the Grove
The grove was designated a national memorial in 1996. Owned and administered by the City of San Francisco, it is an affiliated area of the National Park Service. Unlike most national memorials, the grove is not listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
